Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how YouExpats (“we”, “us”, “the Service”), available at youexpats.com, collects, uses and protects your personal data, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection and Digital Rights (LOPDGDD).

1. Data Controller

The data controller is Daniele Calorio EIRL, registered in France (SIRET 79137121400036, EU VAT FR48791371214), with registered address at 61 Rue de Lyon, 75012 Paris, France. Contact: hello@youexpats.com.

2. What data we collect

• Business listing submissions: your name and email, and the business details you provide (name, description, address, phone, website, languages).
• Reviews: the name you display, an optional email, your rating and review text.
• Technical data: IP address and basic request data, used to prevent spam and abuse and to keep the Service secure.

We do not require you to create a user account to browse the directory.

3. Purposes and legal basis

• To publish and manage directory listings you submit — legal basis: your consent and the performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(a)/(b) GDPR).
• To moderate content and prevent fraud/spam — legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• To respond to your enquiries sent by email — legal basis: your consent.
• To comply with legal obligations where applicable (Art. 6(1)(c)).

4. Data retention

We keep listing and review data for as long as the listing remains published or until you ask us to remove it. Technical logs are kept only for the period needed for security purposes. Afterwards, data is deleted or anonymised.

5. Recipients and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We rely on the following service providers, acting as data processors:

• Hosting: Raiola Networks, S.L. (servers located in the EU/Spain).
• Email: the email provider associated with our domain, to receive and answer your messages.
• Fonts: web fonts may be served via Google Fonts, which may process your IP address to deliver the font files.

6. International transfers

Our data is stored within the EU. Where a provider (such as a font or content delivery network) may process data outside the EU, such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

7. Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and data portability by emailing hello@youexpats.com. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time and to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. As the data controller is established in France, the lead authority is the CNIL (www.cnil.fr); if you reside in Spain, you may also contact the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).

8. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data (encrypted connections, access control to the administration area, and spam protection). No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 14. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
